Terms

The plain-language version

These terms govern your use of Emberquill. Last updated: September 2026.

The service

Emberquill rewrites text you submit so it reads more naturally, and scores the result with statistical models or third-party detectors when configured. Detection scores are estimates and come with no guarantee: no tool can promise how any detector will classify a given text, and you are responsible for reviewing the final output, including its facts and citations.

Plans, credits, billing

Paid plans run 30 days from purchase and include a grant of word credits (100,000 on Starter, 400,000 on Pro). Plans do not auto-renew. When a plan expires you return to the free tier, and unused purchased credits remain on your account. Each rewrite deducts one credit per word of input. Rewrites that fail because of an error on our side do not deduct credits.

Fair use

One account per person. Do not abuse the service: no scraping, no reselling access, no automated high-volume traffic, and no use for anything illegal or deceptive. We may throttle or suspend accounts that violate these limits.

Your content

You keep all rights to the text you submit and the text Emberquill produces for you. You grant us only the processing needed to run the service: sending your text to the selected rewrite engine, storing your history, and scoring it when you ask.

Acceptable use of outputs

You are responsible for how you publish rewritten text. If your school, employer, or platform has rules about AI assistance or disclosure, those rules still apply to you. Do not present generated text as verified fact without checking it.

Service availability

We aim for the service to be available around the clock, but rewrite engines and payment providers are third parties we do not control. We may pause the service for maintenance. If a paid plan is unusable for a prolonged period because of a failure on our side, contact us and we will extend or refund it.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
